Powergen believes that it has found “Britain’s most energetic boss” as the result of a nationwide search.

Chip shop owner Ken MacKenzie runs All-ways Fryday fish & chip shop and its sister shop The Halfway Fish Bar in Poole, Dorset.

Powergen says that manageress Caroline Scott “nominated Ken for the award because of his infectious enthusiasm and positive efforts to keep his 26 employees happy and motivated.”

Ken apparently “regularly surprises his workers with days off and free surprise day trips to places such as Iceland, Venice and the pyramids in Egypt as rewards for their hard work,” and visits exotic locations in attempts to find new fish to fry.

The man they call “The Cod” wins a holiday in New Zealand as his prize.
