The Health and Safety Executive has recently published a new guide for employers and HR staff to help them in briefing and presenting information to staff. Focusing specifically on their responsibilities for health and safety briefings, the 16 page Adobe Acrobat document provides a simple five step process to help the manager prepare for any briefing and get the messages across most effectively.
The guide is simple and direct, written in plain English, with some useful checklists to help less experienced managers get this kind of function right.
The guide also summarises all the main responsibilities of managers and supervisors with regard to workplace health and safety.
