HR administration certificate boosts competence levels

pp_default1

A new joint initiative in HR administration, that promises to help administrators to gain a better understanding of employment law and good employment practices, has been launched.

InitialFirst Learning and Development, part of the Rentokil Initial Group of companies, and HR4UK.com are spearheading the certificate.

The four unit distance learning course is written to a level two certificate standard for a future vocationally-related qualification. According to the course designers, the certificate is aimed for people who are competent administrators but know little, if anything, about employment law or good employment practices.

On completing the course, students will also possess the knowledge to issue legal contracts and to set up and run a simple legal personnel record system.

Norman Floyd of InitialFirst said: “We are all aware that good staff management depends on good record keeping. Small businesses appear to find this difficult and time consuming. If management were able to delegate this administrative function with confidence it would improve, providing better staff relations and personnel management. The question up to now has been how to be sure that the person to whom they delegate this important responsibility is suitably trained.

“This initiative has been launched to provide certificated administrators in whom management can have trust knowing they have the knowledge to carry out the duties required to cover this important area of their business.”
