GAC Logistics (UK) Ltd, a leading logistics services provider and part of the global GAC Group, has significantly improved business efficiency and is reducing its environmental impact as a result of implementing COA Solutions’ Electronic Payslip system. This system, which went live in June 2008, is tightly integrated into the company’s COA Solutions OpenPeople payroll solution and has initially been made available to 120 employees across six sites.
Annalie Briers, HR and Payroll Manager of GAC Logistics (UK), says, “It used to take us half a day each month to process employee payslips as we had to print them out, tear off the perforation strip, put them in envelopes and then place them in the internal post.”
Briers continues, “Implementing COA Solutions’ Electronic Payslips system has eliminated these time consuming manual processes and the payslips can now be run remotely. This saves us six working days a year and significantly cuts costs associated with paper, printing and postage whilst also reducing our environmental impact.”
With COA Solutions’ Electronic Payslips module, GAC Logistics employees receive their payslips via email as a pdf, which is password protected for security reasons. They can then save this to a directory and view for future use.
Briers comments, “The new system is incredibly easy to use and has enabled us to make payslips available online at least two days before staff are paid so that they no longer have to worry about their payslips going missing or being delayed in the post. This has also helped to reduce the number of queries regarding staff pay and has ensured that any errors are corrected before the payroll is closed.”
Briers adds, “With Electronic Payslips, we can enjoy huge time and efficiency savings. It took just three weeks from placing the order to installing the new system and we will receive a return on our investment within just 12 months.”
