Software satisfaction awards: Which is your favourite HR provider?

Software Satisfaction Awards 2008 We need your votes on the software awards that matter most – the Software Satisfaction Awards 2008.

Organised by HRZone.co.uk’s parent group Sift Media and the software trade body BASDA, the Software Satisfaction Awards set out to honour those software developers and resellers who do the most to keep their customers happy every year. Nearly 2,000 people voted in 19 categories last year – and we need your help to make the awards bigger and better this year.

Anyone who uses a business application is entitled to take part in the online survey, which asks about programs for accounting and finance, HR, training and customer relationship management.

More than 900 people voted in the people and payroll categories for last year’s Software Satisfaction Awards, but to ensure that the full sweep of the industry is represented, we need as many HRZone.co.uk members as possible to take part.

The integrated HR category was very closely contested in 2007, with winner ASR beating out Midland, Snowdrop, Frontier and IRIS-owned CS Group. ASR has now become part of the expanding COA Solutions group, while Snowdrop has been joined in Sage’s HR software portfolio by KCS. As technology editor John Stokdyk noted recently, the HR software industry looks set for a wave of consolidation.

NorthgateArinso was the category winner for enterprise HR systems, but smaller rivals such as Vizual and Computers in Personnel outperformed the traditional enterprise software giants SAP and Oracle. With so much consolidation taking place within the industry, HRZone.co.uk recently asked, does size matter? Your votes will help us find out how these deals affect the people who use these applications.

There are also interesting races taking place within the payroll and learning management system categories. While taking part in the Software Satisfaction Survey, please take a few extra moments to tell us about these systems and any customer relationship management and finance systems you come into contact with. The more people who participate across all these categories will ensure that the final awards are based on a truly representative vote.

The results are published online and in a Software Satisfaction Annual that provides valuable information for prospective software buyers (8.5MB PDF download).
