The Sunday Times’ have awarded their annual gong to the Nationwide Building Society.
The organisation beat other household names including Asda, Mothercare and Cadbury Schweppes.
The paper commented: ““Scruples come first for the staff of Nationwide. Respect for customers and each other are the bricks and mortar of this mutual building society. Creating a happy, motivated front line where the smiles are genuine rather than mere customer service is how Nationwide sets itself apart.”
Chief Executive Philip Williamson said the win was ‘fantastic’ adding: “It was fantastic to hear that Nationwide has been judged as the best big company to work for in the UK, and all the more pleasing as the award was primarily judged on our employees’ feedback. Nationwide is only as good as its people and we are really fortunate to have a talented, committed and dedicated workforce.”
Nationwide has been in the top 30 every year since the awards began, moving up the charts on each occasion and last year finishing in 18th place.
