In my previous post, I just mentioned how the fairy tale characters have influenced our lives when we were young and how they are teaching us management lessons in our grey corporate days.
Since I have written the article on Fairy Tales, I have been going through the phase of nostalgia as to how the life was then and now!
Apart from the bed-time stories, we cherished watching cartoons too!
Yes! The CARTOONS, though that time it was just a source of entertainment encouraging our tender mind that we can face any tough situation using our wits and some taekwondo’ , but today, they have more deeper meanings for us professionals now!
Here are my favorites from long list of cartoon shows that can expand the vision of HR people while managing workforce:
#1. Scooby Dooby Doo: All you must agree, Scooby Doo is the funniest dog you can hang out with! In the cartoon series, the way the dog and his human friends solved the horror mysteries was enthralling. The friends used calculated approach following deep study of the matter. Just like in a corporate scenario, while resolving any employee issue, HR must study the matter carefully and then try resolve it.
#2. DuckTales: The adventurous stories of Scrooge McDuck and his three grandnephews, fascinated many kids. For the grownups, they give the very idea that you can overcome any trouble using your wisdom and smartness. Also, you need a good team bonding during emergencies.
#3. TaleSpin: The story revolved around Baloo the bear and his action-adventures. The way the bear and other staff members out-smarted air pirates and other villains on the show teach how employees can handle different levels of work pressure and challenges and make safe landings.
#4. Chip ‘n’ Dale: The cute chipmunks that annoyed Donald Duck with their mischievous acts. Though they were notorious, but used their creative sides while protecting themselves from the Duck. With this, you must learn how to be creative at times and get the work done effectively.
The list doesn’t end here! But what point I am trying to make is that to sustain in todays dynamic and challenging corporate scenarios, you need to be open to any kind of situation and use multi-dimensional approach to solve issues and establish a healthy work culture. Additionally, the basic lesson they teach is you need a great team and team-bonding to achieve success. As they say, No battle can be won alone!
