Nearly all organisations plan to increase their use of e-learning, according to a new poll.
The survey of 150 HR and training professionals, from organisations including Xerox, Reuters, Sainsburys, Shell, O2, Deloitte, Nestle Purina and Marconi, found that 96% expected to increase e-learning as part of their organisations’ overall training delivery in the next 2-3 years.
Of those who did expect to increase their e-learning provision, 58% said that more than a quarter of their training would be delivered in this way.
Almost half – 45% thought that between 26% and 50% of their organisations’ IT training would be delivered electronically. A further 31% expected more than half of all their IT training would be delivered in this way.
In terms of business skills training; the majority (42%) said that between 11% and 25% would be delivered electronically with a further 27% saying between 26% and 50% will be delivered via e-learning.
Blended training was also seen to be important, with 45% of HR and training professionals expecting to blend over 51% of their training delivery in the next year. The majority – 78% – thought there would be an increase in the use of virtual classrooms.
