Interest Rates Held at 6 p.c.

pp_default1

The Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee have announced that interest rates are to be held at 6%.

Initial reaction from the TUC expresses disappointment and similar reactions are expected from the CBI and the British Chambers of Commerce.

The committee is likely to have been split over whether to maintain rates or cut by .25% taking account of US interest rates.

Fears are likely to be expressed that the UK economy may follow a recessionary route.
