Coaching versus training

pp_default1

Is there research which shows that managers get more benefit from one to one coaching than attending “standard” training courses? Did I read somewherethat retention is 2.5 times greater?
Is there evidence that companies are using coaches (internal or external)more often in the UK these days?

  1. Coaching vs Training
    Dear Alan Ross

Coaching is a pretty new thing but is gaining popularity in the USA. However i have not come across any research on this

Coaching is more personal than training does, usually on a one-to -one basis and it may be done on a group basis

With the information and communication technology you can conduct coaching by telephone , video conferencing, coaching by e mail etc

Do e mail me if you want to explore further as i am a member of a virtual coach training school
