SuccessConnect: Dalgaard’s Wheel of Fortune

Cloud HR and Business Execution firm SuccessFactors has beefed up its portfolio with CEO Lars Dalgaard boasting that the firm now has so many offerings that he has to leave it up to pot luck to decide what to talk to customers about! 

Speaking at the firm’s New York Success Connect user conference, Dalgaard – initially clutching his 7 month year son Lars Jr to show off to the audience of customers – decided to allow fate to decide the content of his keynote address through the use of a ‘Spin the Wheel’ board.  
 
“We’re like the musician, who had so many good songs that he didn’t know what to play so he used a Wheel of Fortune on stage, and decided to play the songs that the pointer hit on,” he explained. “Our spinning wheel will land on something and we’ll talk about it. We have so many products to talk about. You know, 60% of our revenues come from products that didn’t exist five years ago. There is no other vendor which has everything that SuccessFactors has – not a single one.”
 
Among the new offerings from the Cloud firm are: 
  • SuccessFactors Calibration –  part of SuccessFactors’ BizX suite, Calibration is claimed to be “the only application that transforms employee calibration into a smooth and efficient process that empowers executives to make critical talent decisions based on credible and objective cross-group insights”. SuccessFactors Calibration brings together data like performance ratings, pay and employee profile information from the rest of the SuccessFactors suite so executives and HR managers leaders can run more effective calibration sessions.  “Calibration is a critical process for many of our large enterprise customers and creating a solution that would help them do this accurately and efficiently was an important priority," said Dmitri Krakovsky, vice president of global product management, SuccessFactors. "Our customers invest in talent initiatives to manage their people strategically and drive business results, and it is essential that they get the most out of these by fueling them with objective ratings.”
  • SuccessFactors Goal Execution – this is intended to brings strategic company goals into the everyday work of employees. From the CEO to each individual employee, it creates commitment, transparency and accountability to ensure that everyone in the organisation is committed to company strategy. Goal Execution reinforces corrporate goals as  employees see and track their progress against overall goals daily, ensuring they are always focused on business results, while executives are able to monitor progress on goals. It also provides an Execution Map which visualises how strategic objectives are broken down, who is working on what and completion status. This is intended to foster deeper understanding of strategy and collaboration across workers with common goals. "With Goal Execution, a company’s strategic goals are at the forefront of everyday work,” said Krakovsky.
  • Recruiting Management –SuccessFactors BizX Recruiting has been updated to include Interview central that enables hiring managers, recruiters and interviewers to collaborate ensuring the right person is hired every time; unified profiles for all candidates that brings together external and internal data; and a new Talent Management Tool that makes it easy to build, manage and communicate with your talent pool.
