Redundancy consultation period

our team of 5 is currently in a 30 day consultation period due to expire on 22 Dec. Our CEO has announced that another consultation period affecting a further 280 staff will be effected on 16 Dec. I understand that the new numbers of staff would require a 90 period of consultation. Is their anywhere in this that entitles us to have our 30 day period increased to the 90 day because of the overlapping period. After all the company could just stagger consultations to get around the 90 day requirement if they wanted.
