I have a chap working in my store who is currently 2 months into a 3month probationary period. He was due to work this morning but did nto show up. He apparently spoke to the superviser last night and stated that he would not be turning up this morning.
What would be my options in dealing with this? Is this a valid reason to terminate his employment? Or would i be better off increasing his probationary period,, with regular performance reviews throughout it, and then terminating him if i do not see a substantial improvement in attitude and workrate?
