During the hot weather our tradesman want to wear shorts. The company do supply trades with logo shirts, black work trousers and PPE.
Now the company has sent out a letter saying this isn’t appropriate, however not on a safety reason, but saying it can look scruffy and be offensive to some customers.
I fully back the trades as working on site during hot weather is agony in long black trousers. There is no stipulation in the contracts saying trades specifically have to wear every part of the uniform all the time.
Where do the trades stand with their argument on this?
