Our local gym has recently been taken over by an independent company. Lots of changes which have ‘upset’ the members and the staff are now being enforced.
However, the new owner has also told all the trainers and gym workers that they must all take a pay cut as he can no longer afford to pay them. None of them have contracts and most only work part-time. One permanent member of staff was unhappy with this and asked for a 1:1 with the new owner, and was promptly told that if she wished to pursue this at an ET, she wouldn’t have a leg to stand on.
Is this true?
