Hi

I have been given 1 months Garden leave as I’m moving to a competitor. At the end of my resignation he said “don’t contact your clients, I wouldn’t want to fall out with you”. This suggested a slight warning or threat; legal or personal?

I never signed the contract give me to me 6 months ago due to wanting to leave then and thought it may jeopardise any chances moving close by, in it are no covenants for Garden Leave.

What’s the legalities if I wanted to do any of the following during and after my 1 months garden leave.

1. Wanted to offer alternative services to my clients
2. Inform them I have moved and offer them contact details
3. Inform them I am moving and see if they request contact details
4. Give my client details to my new employer for them to speak to them.

Thank you in advance.

Matt
