I volunteer for profit making company (a dance organisation). I only work 4 hrs a month, in return for free entry. Previously (2007), this has entitled us to free entry to all the venues in the area. They are now (2008) changing this to only free entry at the venue where I work.
The company rely on us to give all new people a warm welcome and help them learn the dance. In effect, without us volunteers, they wouldn’t have many people returning.
I guess my question is can a profit making company take on volunteers?
Also, do volunteers have any rights against changes that are made?
