Although maybe a little late, we are reviewing Policies and Procedures to comply with age discrimination and would like other people’s perspective on the following circumstances:
1) We pay a long service awards to employees who have worked 5, 10 and 15 + years (increasing with length of service)
2) We have a “21 club” which employees join after 21 years service. This includes a gift from the company to the value of £500.
Could these benefits be considered discriminatory to younger employees who would not have had time to build up the required service?
If anyone has any thoughts, I’d appreciate some guidance.
Thanks
Matt
