I think I’m fairly ‘OK’ on the general things about maternity leave and return to work – but we want to make future plans that will be affected by whether an employee decides she wishes to return part or full-time.

She has unofficially said that she wants to return full-time – is it acceptable for us to ask her if that decision is final, ahead of the eight weeks notice she needs to give us (she will be returning in the new year after less than 52 weeks).

Really grateful for any thoughts, especially if definitive!
