The company was set up between me and one other – and after a while his father who lives in Monaco injected some cash into the business (becoming a Shadow Director)
We were both "Directors" and the company is registered with companies house.

I did a lot of work (unpaid) – designing the company logo, website, vehicle logo’s, and business cards, set up the email system, and still hold the ownership of the companies domain including email hosting etc + bought business to the company.

Over time the company went nowhere and everything went quiet. I was asked for the company phone back and a Macbook Pro that was bought for me by the company. The phone i returned straight away – they are still paying for it on a monthly basis and therefore it is only fair that it goes back.

Business was done, and there is money owed to me – am i within my rights (and the law) to hold on to the Macbook until the money is paid?

The money owed to me is less than the price of a Macbook Pro – but they are claiming they owe me nothing as the money i am requesting was never paid to them by our client and they wrote it off without informing me.

This might seem like a really menial question – but its bugging me!!

Where do i stand on this one??
