I would be very grateful if someone could give me some guidance on how to help a member of staff who is extremely overweight without them feeling stigmatised.

It has been noticed and mentioned by several members of staff that this colleague has gained more weight recently. He seems to struggle getting around the office, and doing the simplest of tasks, unfortunately he has broken his third chair and this has now been replaced with a heavy duty chair.

The department he works in would like to help him loose some weight because there are concerns for his long term health and wellbeing. However, how do we approach such a sensitive issue without causing embarassment, victimisation or offence.

Any advice or guidance would be truely appreciated to help with our genuine concern.
