I am re-writing our maternity policy, and have discovered when comparing maternity policies with a council’s policy, that compulsory maternity leave increases from 2 weeks to 4 weeks in certain circumstances. I believe that Factory workers, laundry workers and kithen workers must take 4 weeks – according to the 1936 Public Health Act – section 205.
We have laundry and catering workers – but I have not been able to verify this extension by searching the internet.
Can anyone advise if this is in fact the case, as I’d rather make sure the policy was right as we’re re-writing it now.
