Eleven years ago i signed a contract that stated that my requirement to give notice equals that of the employer (one week per completed year of service).

I have just given one months notice and have been told that the company are considering enforcing the full eleven weeks notice.

Can they do this?

Also what happens if they say i have to work 11 weeks but i leave after 4?
