We have an employee who has defaced a photograph of our worldwide management team by insinuating that the company discriminates on the basis of sex because there are no women in the picture [we are a japanese company in a very male dominated industry but we have a good distribution of women across all functions]. She is entitled to her opinions but has photocopied this picture and put it on the notice board with the words “where are the women” and “call this equal opportunities??”. A female colleague took it down as she was disgusted by this woman’s behaviour and reported it to me. I have had to speak to this person before as she did something similar [gossiping rather than in writing] but this has had no effect. Please, I don’t want comments on the diversity of our company I just want to know how to deal with this. Management want to go a formal disciplinary, I am not so sure.
Thank you for your advice.
