Hello people, hopefully you can help out here.

My friend, who is 4 months pregnant, was recently admitted into hospital on suspected miscarriage, then pre-clampsia. As it turns out, she didn’t have this and the baby is fine. However, she was in hospital for 3 days. She contacted her boss on a daily, sometimes twice daily basis to keep her notified.

Upon return to work she was dragged into the office and her boss told her she didn’t believe she had been in hospital and was conducting an investigation into her actions. She was therefore potentially being disciplined.

Also, her boss has refused to let her go to any more medical appointments/ante-natal classes until it has been resolved.

My friend has since seen her GP and has been signed off with stress (as she is really stressed out). My question is, what are her rights? Can she be disciplined over being in hospital on account of her pregnancy?
