We have dismissed an employee for persistant absences during a trial period. The employee started work at the end of October 2003 and was absent sick (?) 10 times in December 2003. Additionally her attitude was very negative towards her colleagues.

I would need to write to her to justify the dismissal. She received a weeks pay in lieu etc.

Has anybody got a decent letter that they have used in similar circumstances?
