An employee was charged with a violent offence. At the start of the internal investigation the employee denied the offence and gave various different versions of the events in question.
Leading up to the court proceedings the employee maintained their innocence until in court when they pleaded guilty!
I feel that the employee has therefore misled us during the investigation and been dishonest. With this in mind do we have reasonable grounds for dismissal for SOSR due to the breakdown of trust in the employment relationship?
Thanks.
