I have an employee who commenced her period of maternity leave in March 2004. She officially told us the dates that she wanted her leave to start in February 04. I have just found out that we did not respond to this notification.
I intend to send her a letter today to confirm the details that would have been in the response if we had done it i.e. date leave commenced, rate of pay and date of return.
Should I do anything else?
Could the employee complain to a tribunal as we have not followed the statutory rules?
