Seeing as summer is almost upon us (when will it stop raining?!) and many of us are preparing for our precious two weeks in the sun, we return to that same topic of conversation that often crops up at this time of year – how do we ensure the annual leave process is a smooth one, and doesn’t impact on the day-to-day running of the business?
What working practices do you have to ensure all runs smoothly when employees are away from the office for one week or more?
Do you have policies to limit the amount of people who are away on holiday at any one time?
What experiences have you had that have led to some serious holiday headaches for the business at this time of year?
Also, what with the world becoming a smaller place these days, more people seem to be requesting extended periods of annual leave, so how do you cope if staff are away for three weeks etc?
