As part of a programme of investment, continuous improvement and job enrichment, we are looking to make changes within one of our manufacturing divisions by the introduction of cellular working within a 24/5 (3 shift pattern) mass production environment. We also have Union recognition, non-Union Representation and operate a central Kanban system which we are looking to expand to Kanbans within the cells.
I would welcome advice, tips or comments from anyone who has already experienced the introduction of cellular working, the benefits and the pitfalls and what you would do differently with hindsight.
