An employee in her additional maternity leave period has requested a SSP1 form from us, she has stated she has a doctor’s note and therefore unfit to work. She has suggested that we should issue a SSP1 form to her stating we can not pay SSP to her as she is currently on maternity leave. As I believe, we would only issue a SSP1 form if the employee was at work (not on maternity leave), is this correct?
