New Organisation – Change of Contract

We have recently had a Company re-orginisation, with a new layer being put between the Project Managers and the Managing Director, i.e Operations Manager.

Does this constitute a change in Contract for the Project Managers, who previously reported directly to the MD?

One of the Project Managers is stating that this was done without their consultation.

Can someone please advise me on the Companies position.
