I was appointed to a new post of HR Manager in September 2009 with a 6 month probationary period.  Last week, I had a probationary review meeting and was shocked to hear that my line manager has reservations about my suitability/right fit for the role.  They want to extend the probation another month. I had no guidance regarding objectives/priorities at the start, have had no interim reviews and no negative feedback up to now – on the contrary I have had very positive comments and felt that things were going pretty well.  The whole process has been managed very poorly.  I realise that with under 12 months’ employment, I cannot claim unfair dismissal if they terminate my employment – is there anything else I could do?
