We have a member of staff whose attendance has become very poor lately, coming in late, leaving early, not attending at all. At a stage 2 sickness meeting with the employee and her manager and it was pretty obvious that she was pregnant (or had swallowed a melon!).

She didnt mention anything about this, and when asked if there was anything outside of work that was maybe affecting her attendance she said no. she ended up with a sickness caution and the next day turned up late and said she had been sick….

I know she doesnt have to inform us until 15 weeks before EWC for leave and pay, but what are your thoughts on approaching her beforehand. We want to make sure that we are supporting her, especially if her sickness is pregnancy related.
