I work as night manager in a hotel and perform most of the same duties as the reception shift leaders with the exception of a few reports they have to submit to head office and that I am duty manager at night and they perform no management shifts. Dispite this they are paid a higher rate than me ie. They are on £8.00+ per hour and work a 40 hour week, I on the other hand get a salary of £15500 per annum and work 45 hours per week. I have raised a grievance using the companies grieavance procedure but nothing has been done about this. What is my position and is the companies policy of paying a lower level working doing basically the same job not illegal under the Equal Pay and Gender Discrimination regulations.
Where do you recommend I go next as company personnel staff will not advise me.
