I am designing a training that will enable Public Authority policy makers to undertake Race Equality Impact Assessments and to understand why they need to consider it as part of Regulatory Impact Assessments.

This stems, as you probably know, from the fact that there is a specific statutory duty (Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000) on all listed public bodies to ensure all relevant functions and policies meet the general duty to:
• Eliminate unlawful racial discrimination
• Promote equality of opportunity
• Promote good relations between people of different racial groups.

I know that the requirements are, and will be creating a Thinking Environment to teach much more than the statutory requirements.
I’m just wondering if anyone can suggest anything else that might be helpful or interesting?
