4 weeks ago we were told, as a team, our positions were being made redundant and that there were 5 new roles we could apply for or we could opt to take voluntary redundancy.
After a couple of consultation meetings, in which I was never satisfied by the answers given, I decided to opt for the voluntary redundancy. I am really not happy about the new role and processes they are proposing…
i have now been told that they have refused my application for redundancy and in fact my role is not going to be made redundant so I either have to stay or resign.
I am confused now as to why they are now telling me that my role is not being redundant and yet I have to take the new role they have specified 9which is basically the same as my current role but with a different job title).
Can they do this?
I then enquired as to whether or not there would be a 4week trial period in which I could still decide to take the redundancy if I was not happy with the role and they said NO.
Is this correct?
PLEASE HELP ME. I have got to tell them by tomorrow moring what option I have decided – stay or go with nothing.
