If a candidate applies for an advertised position, and the job description states that the ‘ideal’ candidate would have a relevant degree (or equivalant)but the candidate is then told that the application was not successful as the requirements had changed and a candidate must be a ‘recent University graduate’.
Is this a nice way of saying ‘we prefer someone younger’?

The position has now been re-advertised (2 weeks later) stating they require a ‘graduate’ who must have relevant recent degree.
