We are a small company, no greater than 40 employees. One of our supervisors has gone to Mexico, they are due to return to the UK on Monday 8th June and return to work on Tueday 9th June. We are concerned that this person could have contacted swine flu and may cause an outbreak here at the works. This would have a devestating effect on some on our employees due to current medical conditions. Do we have a right to request that the individual stays away until a period of time has passed. What do we have to do, do we have to pay them?
