Does anyone know if it is okay to take a tape recorder into a Disciplinary meeting or a Grievenace meeting to take full accurate minutes from afterwards?

The employee would be informed beforehand and the tapes would be readily available for them to access as well.

It is a very complicated meeting and the employee in question does have a habit of going off on a tangent so we want to make sure everything is noted down.
