How do we treat situations when temps working for us [and really doing a good job] have to take time off for e.g holiday, child care, bereavement etc? The job is not yet finished and they would still like to come back [we are also happy to have them back and can do without another cover pending]

Do we keep the job openned or does it have an implications on temps vs employee status?
