Wondered if anyone can confirm, my friend has been with a company for 5 months into a 6 month probation period. They have told her last week that they do not want her to continue in their employment and offered that although notice period is one week in probation, she can stay in employment fully paid for another 6 weeks to give her time to look for another job.
They haven’t given her much info on why she has been sacked, just said it wasn’t working and they want to get someone else in instead who is more experienced.
Are they allowed to do this? And isn’t there some sort of procedure I’ve heard about that they have to follow?
