Hello,

I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on whether allowing employees to take time off to care for sick relatives is a good strategic move and if the privilege of having this time off at short notice should be classed as part of the benefits package. For example, staff are allocated a certain number of days per year that they can take off without notice to care for their unwell children – without question or any consequences. Would planning for these days make HR’s job easier and ease tensions between HR and employees? What do you think?

I’d love to hear your views on this issue, so please post your comments below or if you’re feeling shy feel free to email me!

Kind regards,
