We are currently revising our TOIL policy. Employees have requested that we consider time spent travelling on business and nights spent away from home on business. I would think that the mere act of being away doesn’t count but that hours that you have to work whilst away from home (including being ‘on duty’ ) do.
I have been asked to do some benchmarking and would be interested in any views you may care to offer.
