We have a line manager – 51 years of age, employed for over 10 years with the company. He is both under-performing and behaving unprofessionally and we have done everything we can to help (Clear objectives with lots of training, coaching support, reviews etc to achieve them). This is not working so we have now no choice but to go down the formal route. This manager can see the writing is on the wall and is now shouting disability due to his diabetes and threatening ‘back off or else’.
We have no intention of backing off but would like to know if this ‘curve ball’ diabetes is anything we should be worrying about?
