Rumour has it that in the ever ending chase to reduce costs and maximise output recruitment companies are using temp staff to conduct competency based interviews by phone. Typically temps are given a day’s training and then let loose with candidates conducting telephone based CBI’s before the face to face interview occurs. Frequently these call centre temps are in their early 20’s and have limited business experience with which to interpret and understand some of the more complex corporate examples that are explained.

Is this good for the industry or merely the shape of things to come? Would you like to be interviewd by an 18 year old filling in whilst he/she is waiting to go back to college/drama school?
