We have an employee who has a company car, it does not form part of their written contract however they were provided with it a few weeks after they were employed and have had it for a few years now, could it be seen as an implied term of contract? The car is up for renewal and the employee is not travelling as much for business as they did when they started with the company.They do however use it to get into work. Can we remove the car benefit at the renewal date? do we need to give notice of it’s withdrawl? We do not have a company car policy that outlines these processes, any advice would help.
