The roles HR personnel have in the organization are always interconnected with employees and staff. Each aspect needs required information to be familiarized and this cannot be done with effective communication skills. Power of effective communication skills work wonders in resolving issues and employee engagements.
For HR title role sometimes it’s very hard to intimate your employees for some negative change or a change which is not favored by employees at that time in the organization as you need to communicate them with the change and on the same time you have to maintain their motivational level. Honest communication is one of the key ingredients in managing change as well as managing people. Sometimes inadvertently, when our actions are observed by employees, perhaps because communication takes place so naturally, we often fail to consider the process of communication as seriously as we should. Consequently, we often fail to communicate with employees effectively.
We as HR professionals communicate with employees all the time. We are communicating with them directly and indirectly as well. Enquiring their quires, answering their questions on daily basis and introducing new policies within the organization, hence, we are always in mode of communication with them.
Here are few keys to effective communication skills in HR;
