I’ve written a piece about why some leaders seem to eschew the open, inclusive world of social media in favour of the broadcast, one way nature of the print media (even leaders in the world of communications!!). My experience shows me that despite wide acceptance among some important groups, eg shop floor staff, new entrants and customers, the guys n girls at the top seem reluctant, maybe even fearful of two way experiences. Do leaders in big companies really become so far removed that they become scared to source real, live feedback?

I’m very keen to get the perspective of HR professionals on this. Dialogue can be extremely powerful. What experiences do you have? Are my experiences isolated or is there more we can share and learn about this?
