I thought I’d share my top five in demand HR skill sets within the media and entertainment sector – I’d be interested to know if you are finding the same within your own organisations:
· Internal Recruitment: Still a very hot potato as organisations look for new ways to drive down agency costs as well as pipelining talent for the future. On line sourcing techniques and community building skills are very much in demand
· Change Management: While during the recession, issues around downsizing, redundancy and budget cutting were the order of the day, today’s projects are far more associated with positive change such as expansion, reskilling and team build out.
· Learning & Development: Organsiations are investing in their talent but need L&D specialists who can really demonstrate outcomes by showing how their programmes contribute to the bottom line
· Temporary and Interim: We are seeing a marked increase in maternity cover roles driven by the UK baby boom
· In house SME: We are seeing more SMEs beginning to build their own in house HR resource.
Generally we are finding that despite the economic backdrop, opportunities for HR professionals are on the increase. What’s your experience?
